In april van dit jaar verschijnt het eerste nummer van een nieuwe serie stripalbums gewijd aan Laurel & Hardy. De uitgever is American Mythology, die het nieuws via een persbericht op haar website heeft gezet. De tekenaar wordt Jorge Pacheco en de schrijvers  zijn Jordan Gershowitz en S.A. Check. Deze laatste zegt in het persbericht:”One of my favorite parts of the process (van werken aan het eerste nummer, —Red.) has been delving back into the skits and movies and numerous articles written about the comedians, and remembering why so many fans continue to hold their work in such high regard.’

De firma Larry Harmon Pictures Corporation die al sinds de dood van Stan Laurel de rechten exploiteert, is blij dat Laurel & Hardy na dertig jaar weer in druk verschijnen: “With the current international release of our new Laurel & Hardy feature film, Stan & Ollie, the timing is perfect to reintroduce Laurel & Hardy Comics to new generations of Laurel & Hardy fans, as well as of course to the millions of existing fans around the world.”

De ruim 200 nummers van de oude serie strips die in Nederland in de jaren ’60 en ’70 werd uitgegeven door uitgeverij Classics in Naarden worden nog steeds druk verhandeld, o.a. op Marktplaats en Catawiki.
